Kaio Andrade’s History

Kaio has extensive experience in teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on a competitive level and
is a former Brazilian national champion.

“I started training Jiu Jitsu in 1997 with the Konde Coma Team in Brazil where I met many good teachers and training partners.

A few years later when I had my blue belt I met Cesar Porto for the first time. Back then, Cesar was already an experienced black belt who became a good friend and a real Sensei, teaching me the art of Jiu Jitsu, skills and responsibilities. After more than 16 years as his student, I’m grateful to have had him guiding the way.

I dedicate this short summary of my Jiu Jitsu path to him.

At the age of 5 my mother introduced me to Karate. I practiced Karate all the way to my early teenage years. After that I also practiced a bit of full contact Kung-Fu, Aikido, and Capoeira. I eventually started to train Jiu Jitsu when I was 18 years old and I have been practicing ever since.

I believe that all martial arts have pros and cons, but I have always had a great passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu due to its effectiveness, reliability and philosophy. It is a martial art that focuses on realistic techniques, teaches self control, timing and patience. It is one of the few effective modern martial arts that allows the physically weaker individual to win over the stronger.

THE JOURNEY TOWARDS THE BLACK BELT WAS NOT AN EASY ONE… DEDICATION AND PERSISTENCE WERE KEY.

On my path towards my black belt I also managed to become the Espírito Santo State Champion twice as well as the 2002 Brazilian National Champion in São Paulo.“
